Dr. Camilo Alberto Ospina Saldarriaga

Dr. Ospina is a medical doctor and public health specialist and a passionate entrepreneur with more than 25 years of experience in the design, development, marketing and implementation of innovative projects, products and services in health and social security based on cultural transformation, virtuality and new communications and information technologies (ICT). He has been involved with the design and development of applied innovation and knowledge management strategies and initiatives as well as strategic marketing and development of business intelligence and new trends related to the health sector, social security, insurance and technology.

Dr. Ospina is the founder of Ubiquo Telemedicina, a Colombian company leader in the development of technological tools to improve access to specialized health services, and served as general manager for the past eight years. He previously served for 15 years as director of innovation for one of SURA Group’s social security companies; he had joined the team that started the company in 1995 and developed the portfolio of products and services that made it possible to become the market leader in Colombia with more than 1.5 million affiliates and 36,000 related companies.

Having graduated from University CES with his medical degree in 1988 and receiving a Specialist in Public Health from Universidad de Antioquia in 1994, Dr. Ospina served as an attending physician for seven years, five of them in the emergency room department of the Clinica Medellín, the most traditional private clinic in the city. His further educational achievements have included:Diploma in Strategic Management, EAFIT; Diploma in Evidence-Based Medicine, CES; Diploma in Marketing, UPB; Diploma in People Development and Leadership, PUJ; Strategic Innovation Course, TEC Monterrey; SURA Group Internal Quality Auditor ISO 9000 v2008 standard. Dr. Ospina served as a Chair Professor in Postgraduate Risk Management and Occupational Health at University CES for five years. He has been a SOMER Clinical Partner since 1995and served two years as a member of the board of directors of SOMER, and was a member for five years of the Health Informatics and Management Systems Society (HIMSS).
