Nadia Crosignani, PhD, Uruguay

Dr. Crosignani is a veterinarian, working as an adjunct professor and researcher with the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the University of the Republic of Uruguay (UdelaR) and as the director of the Veterinary Pain Treatment and Palliative Care unit at the Veterinary Hospital at UdelaR. Previously she was a researcher at the Faculty of Medicine at University Estadual of Sao Paulo for four years. She is also a member of the Interdisciplinary Nucleus of Cannabis Studies at UdelaR. Dr. Crosignani has extensive experience in veterinary medicine, focused on animal anesthesiology, particularly with regards to analgesia, opioids, anesthesia, epidurals and dogs.

Dr. Crosignani’s main research interest is analgesia in veterinary medicine, and she has published work in numerous medical journals and presented her research in major international scientific congresses. She earned a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine and Technology from UdelaR, a Master’s of Physiology from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS, Brazil) and in 2013 her doctorate in Anesthesiology from São Paulo State University of Mesquita Filho (UNESP, 2013), completing part of her studies at the Royal Veterinary College (London).
