Gonzalo Aristizabal Londoño

Mr. Aristizabal is chairman of the board of Miraflor LLC, a US-based company established for the direct marketing and distribution of Colombian flowers. He was previously with Frutesa S.A., a 250-hectare banana production project in the Santa Marta region of northern Colombia. For ten years Mr. Aristizabal was managing partner of Cultivos Miramonte S.A., a flower production company that grew to 60 hectares from its initial 12 hectares. He previously served as vice president for several flower production companies and was assistant professor of agricultural economics at the National University, Medellin.

Mr. Aristizabal is a member of the board of directors and previous chairman of Asocolflores. He has been a committee member of the American Flower Marketing Council and chairman of the board of the Colombia Flower Council, a US entity established between Asocolflores and AFIF (Association of Flower Importers from Florida) to represent the industry on international trade issues. Mr. Aristizabal was a member of the Consumer Marketing Committee and the Society of American Florists, and member/co-founder of the University-Private Sector-Public Sector Committee, a University of Antioquia and government alliance focused on identifying the research and development needs in the private sector and the opportunities presented by the university.

Mr. Aristizabal earned a Master’s degree in Agricultural Economics from Iowa State University and a Bachelor’s in Agronomy from Universidad Nacional, Medellin, Colombia. He is a native of Medellin.
